What is Insider Business Club? The Insider Business Club will be a community of finance directors and members of their teams. Members of the club are able to access a weekly web-conference debate involving leading industry experts discussing issues that affect senior finance staff. The topics debated vary from week to week but all feature in-depth analysis and exclusive comment from expert players in the financial world. Each event is chaired by an Accountancy Age or Financial Director journalist who invites interactive questions from viewers. The Insider Business Club gives financial directors, financial controllers and other members of the finance team exclusive access to these debates each week. As well as being able to view the debates live, members of the club are given access to the online Archive which allows them to download presentations at a later stage. They are also made available as podcasts. Topics will include: - International Financial Reporting Standards - Fraud/Money Laundering - Wealth Management and Personal Finance - Employee Benefits including Pensions Provision - Training and development - including CPD and MBAs - IT and financial software strategy - Outsourcing the Finance Function - Corporate finance - including MBOs and private equity deals - Tax - Audit - Business recovery / Turnaround - Employee benefits and pensions - Financial reporting softwareTo see a schedule of up-coming events please view the [ Calendar ] Past meetings are archived and made available on-demand from this website, please view the [ Archive ]. I am a member, how do I participate in the Live Meetings? To attend an event is very straightforward. All you need to do is confirm your attendance by clicking on 'accept' next to the event you wish to attend in the [ Calendar ] section of this site. Its as simple as that. You are also able to confirm your attendance for the next event from the home page which will feature details of this event by clicking 'Confirm Attendance'. You may also receive invitation emails to draw your attention to events. This is particularly likely if the event is covering topics that you have selected in your [ Preferences ] as being of particular interest. This will ensure that you don't miss events of most value to you. For this to be most effective we ask that you keep your preferences up to date. You will be sent an email confirmation as soon as you have registered for an event. You will also be sent a reminder email on the day of the event. How do I enter the Live meetings? Simply go to the homepage 1-10 minutes prior to the start time of the event (or click on the link in your email reminder). This page will be changed into the entry point for the event. You will have two choices at this stage: - Telephone Audio - Make this selection and you will go through to the interactive event webpage where you also receive instructions to dial in to the live meeting and listen to it over the telephone. - Internet Audio - Make this selection and you will go through to an interactive event webpage and automatically stream the audio over the internet and listen through you PC via its speakers or headphones. What will happen during these meetings? The live events will take the form of a structured discussion with 2-3 leading industry figures. The discussions are hosted by editorial staff from Accountancy Age and Financial Director. The event lasts for around 45 minutes and is focused on particular topics for discussion. Can I interact during these Live meetings? Yes, during these live meeting you have the opportunity to interact through the online live event page. Invited members will be able to: - Ask questions of speakers - View slides - Vote on issues All of these will be fielded by the meeting host who is an Accountancy Age or Financial Director journalist. Please be aware it may not be possible for every question to be answered during the meeting. If you are listening over the telephone, as with Internet audio, you will only be able to ask questions and make statements entered through the online event page. Can I listen to a recorded version of an event after it has finished? Yes, we archive all events and make them available 'on-demand' for members to access at their convenience. Please visit the [ Archive ] section. Can I request topics for future discussion? Yes you can. In the [ Requests ] section you can enter comments and requests for future meetings. These are reviewed by the Insider Business Club team to help determine future topics for discussion and may be included in the request forum in this section of the site. Can I submit questions ahead of a live meeting? Yes from the homepage you are able to ask questions ahead of the next meeting which will be featured on the homepage. Is there anything I need to do now as a member? If you haven't done so, please complete your [ Preferences ]. If you have done this then we can send you invites to events that match your interests keeping this club more relevant to you. In the meantime please feel free to browse the site, request topics for future club discussion, use our archive section and register for events in the schedule area.
